Denturist Services
Denturists are Denture Specialists
Denturists are primary oral health care providers who specialize in the technical art of fabricating and repairing all types of dentures. They are also trained in the diagnosis and treatment of patients who need dentures. In Alberta, Denturists are regulated by the provincial government and registered with the College of Alberta Denturists. To become a Denturist in Alberta one must complete a rigorous 3 Year Course of Study offered by the Denture Technology Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Once this course and a period of internship is completed successfully, candidates must then pass provincial licensure exams before being allowed to practice. Like most other primary health care providers, Denturists also have continuing education requirements to ensure that they keep abreast of changes in the field of Denturism.
Your Denturist will consult with you in order to help you determine what type of dentures are best for you. There are many types of dentures to choose from including Complete Dentures, Partial Dentures and Dentures over Implants. Denture Technology is now quite advanced enabling your Denturist to choose from a wide array of treatment options to serve you. You don’t need a referral from any other Health Care provider to visit a Denturist. Most Denturists offer free initial consultations and accept payment from private and government heath care plans.
